If you would like to view houses please give us as much notice as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you at short notice but it could be that all our partners are fully booked on the day you would like to view. You will normally want to see more than one property so please allow a full morning or afternoon as there may be some distance to travel between houses.
Don’t try to do too much in one visit. If you leave work tired, drive to France and arrive even more tired and then aim to visit several different regions in as many days you will end up exhausted and unable to remember what you have seen and where. You will almost certainly end up having to cancel some of your appointments. We suggest, therefore, that you confine each viewing visit to one region unless you have several weeks.
A mistake many people make is to wait until they have a portfolio of half a dozen ‘ideal’ properties they would like to view before arranging a visit. If you do this you are likely to find that some or all of them have been sold and you are back to square one. In our experience it is very rare for a client to purchase one of the properties on their viewing list. There are two main reasons for this. Firstly, it is very difficult to get a real idea of what a house is like from photos and a description. So much depends on the surroundings and the feel of the house when you walk into it. Secondly, you will almost certainly change your mind about what you are looking for after you have seen a few houses. For example, a acre of garden sounds wonderful when you are sitting on your postage stamp piece of lawn in the UK, or your flat in London. But the realities of having to keep it in order when you visit a few times a year for holidays may make you decide to go for something more manageable.
Our advice is that if we have 2 or 3 houses on our website which look like possibilities, come and have a look. We have a very wide range of properties and will do our best to find out what would suit your needs and tastes and only take you to see those that fit. If you change your mind as you go along we will be flexible as well. Even if you don’t find the right house on the first visit you, and we, have a much better idea of what to look for on a subsequent visit.
